The real cost

The work is not the exhausting part.

The exhausting part is everything that happens before and after you turn a wrench.

Driving into jobs without enough information.
Writing estimates that go nowhere.
Having your quote compared to numbers that were never realistic.

evengate. is built to reduce that friction before the truck rolls.

✓Enough info to know if the job's worth the drive.
✓The scope is known before quoting starts.
✓Homeowner expectations are clear up front.
What you'll see before quoting

Real information before you commit time.

The homeowner explains the issue during intake. evengate. turns that into a contractor brief: the homeowner's own words, photos, timing, the full intake conversation, and a summary of what intake settled and what it did not. You see it before you commit time. Quote if it fits, pass, or ask to see the job first.

Kitchen sink leaking underneath
What the homeowner says
Kitchen sink is leaking underneath. Homeowner is not sure what is broken. Photos show an active drip under the cabinet.
The homeowner corrected this
It is not the whole cabinet floor. It is the back corner where the pipe goes into the wall. The rest of it is dry.

The kitchen sink is leaking underneath. I'm not sure what's broken or how to fix it.

Is it coming from the faucet or supply lines, or from the drain area?
HO
The water shows up at the drain area, not the faucet. Started about a week ago and it's worse when the dishwasher runs.
evengate.
Has anything been tried on it already, tightening, or any drain product?
HO
I poured a bottle of drain cleaner down the sink two days ago. It didn't help.

Good to know. What does the cabinet under the sink look like?
HO

How it works for you

Three steps, none of them a phone call.

01

See the brief

The homeowner's own words, photos, timing and the intake conversation, before you spend a minute on it.

02

Quote from the truck

Price it from what's there, pass, or ask to see the job first. Nobody sees your number but the homeowner.

03

Paid at sign off

The homeowner's card is held at acceptance. When the job is signed off, the payment less our fees is credited to your Stripe account. Bank payments take up to four business days to clear. Stripe pays your balance out to your bank on your own payout schedule.

What it costs

The hidden cost of unclear work.

The costs you can't see are bigger than any fee, and you're already feeling them.

evengate. is 10% of the finished job. Work that comes back to you is 3%.

The 10% is for a job we put in front of you. When the work is yours already, it is 3%: a homeowner you have been paid by before, someone who came in through your own link, or a homeowner who asked for you by name. We did not find that work. You did. The rate stays at 3% for as long as they keep calling you.

Separate from the platform fee, payment processing is a flat 3% of every job, the same whether the homeowner pays by card or by bank. Both come out of the payment before it reaches your Stripe account.

There is no lead to buy, because evengate. does not make one. You are not one of eight shops paying for the same phone number. No monthly dues, and no charge for a quote you did not win. When you get paid, evengate. gets paid.

The job comes to you already laid out, so you know what it is before you commit. When the homeowner accepts your quote, the card is authorized or the bank account is linked and verified, so you know how you're getting paid before you start. Stripe handles the rest, which means no invoicing and no chasing a check.

What you get back is your time, and the room to take on more work that pays.

Know another licensed contractor who belongs here? Once you are on evengate., you can refer them and earn when they complete paid work through the platform. You get $100 when their first paid job closes, then half of our fee on their jobs for the rest of the first year and a quarter of it the second year. Not a gift card. A share of what we earn on their work. Referral Program Terms.

Why this exists

Built by operators, on what contractors actually say.

The people building evengate. have run plants and business units, not only written software. We are not contractors, and we do not pretend to be. So we listened first.

More than 3,700 comments from contractors and homeowners, out of more than 700 conversations on trade forums, review sites and neighborhood boards, and Reno plumbers and HVAC shops who sat down with us. The frustrations on this page came from them, in their own words. If something in here wastes your time, tell us and we will change it.

Reno first

We're starting small on purpose.

We're building the network in the Reno area first, and the first jobs are plumbing and HVAC. Every licensed trade can join now, so you're in place when your trade opens.

The goal is simple: better job info, less wasted time, fewer surprises.
